Just like with our Ornamental/Native Garden Coaching, Food Garden Coaching gets you into the garden with a professional. Dina, our food gardening specialist will join you to talk about your needs and wants, and infuse your garden with her deep knowledge of not just veggies and herbs, but with practices of companion planting, amending and fertilizing your soils and compost, and how to approach your garden so that the individual pieces work together.
WHO YOu’ll meet
Dina Kountoupes is Mother Earth Gardens’ resident edibles garden coach, with decade’s worth of experiencing helping folks engage with edibles landscapes.
Her mission is to strengthen the local foods ecosystem by transforming urban spaces into tasty, beautiful and sustainable landscapes through which eaters connect directly with their food and land. She designs, consults, installs and educates about growing more food in sustainable ways.

The appointment
Appointments last from 1-2 hours, and will take place in your garden where Dina and yourself will explore what it is you want to do. And if you would like our coaches to provide you with follow-up documentation, they would be more than happy to type up all that you the two of you talked about, however, please know that you will be billed for the time they use to meet your requests. The add-on documentation can be discussed with your coach at your appointment. You are also welcome and encouraged to take your own notes.
Optional add-onS
Coaching and any follow-up documentation is billed at $80/hr.
Documentation add-ons include:
1) Session Recap - generally around .5 - 1 hour of work
2) List of Plant Suggestions/Ideas - generally around .5 - 2 hours of work
Do you want your food garden installed? Ask Dina if her company, Harvest Moon, is available to hire for your installation.
HOMES OR BUSINESSES FURTHER THAN A 30 MINUTE ROUND TRIP DRIVE FROM ONE OF OUR TWO LOCATIONS HAVE A $35 TRIP CHARGE ADDED.
