Should we be worried that our months are confused and have traded places? Most people I've talked to are exultant rather than concerned that the weather is SPECTACULAR; optimism reigns.
The whole week is supposed to be great, including this next weekend, so there is still time, yes, to
rake all those amazing leaves into fifty or so bags. If you need bags, we have biodegradable ones at the store. We have heard that the city of Minneapolis simply picks up the yard waste bags and cuts them open at the compost site, then throws all that plastic away. Let us know if you know more about this process. Biodegradable bags get mixed reviews, but they do break down over time.
We are heavy into the holiday prep at the store. You will find most all the stuff you need for containers of every kind. As we so often remind you, we have the corner on the local and organic boughs, sticks, twigs and berries. If you don't want to put it together yourself, we've created lots of super pretty arrangements in baskets and pots for you.
Garland construction starts this week - wreath will follow right behind. We have some exceptionally lovely local greenery this year; the store already smells like a big holiday party!
Sustainably grown Xmas trees, freshy fresh as usual, start coming the week of Thanksgiving. We are taking custom orders for wreaths and centerpieces, and we do have a limited number of evenings available for make-your-own-centerpiece groups. These fill fast, like everything this time of year!
And may I say, if you are looking to give the gift of a very lovely hummingbird feeder to a very lovely friend, well, we've got that, too. Along with lots of other surprises you'll have to come into the store to see.
Thanksgiving is right around the corner - how lucky we are to have such a great community!
