Hello Everyone,
A lot of you have signed up for our seminars, which is exciting and fun, and I wanted to let you know that Seed Starting and Urban Vegetable Gardening (both sessions) are full. The remaining weekday seminars are filling fast, so don't delay if you are interested. The complete list is can be found on the Seminars icon on our home page.
Our two weekend workshops have been scheduled now, and are as follows:
Saturday, March 14th at 10am:
Home Ecology: Cleaning and Detoxifying Your Home Environment.
Derek Schumacher reprises his class from last year with a workshop format, discussing the surprising number of household toxins and ways to both limit and clear them out. Suggested donation is $5 if you bring your own houseplant to be repotted, or $10 if we provide a small plant and compostable pot to work with.
Saturday, March 21st at 10 am:
Butterfly Gardening for Adults & Families: Simple Summer Miracles for All to Enjoy.
Come ready to learn how to plan and plant a hardy garden that hosts and attracts beautiful caterpillars and butterflies. Kristin Berg Thompson, and her home grown Caterpillar Club will get you started with ideas, seeds and motivation. Suggested Donation: $5 - $15. All proceeds to benefit Preventing Harm, MN. (www.mepartnership.org/sites/PREVENTINGHARMMN/).
The other bit of news, which we are sad to report, is that our cat, Jolly, needs a new home. Many of you are familiar with her, an older calico cat who sleeps on the counter at the store. She is a wonderful affectionate cat, but she needs to be a situation that does not involve living with dogs or small children. As she has gotten older, she has become less tolerant of that type of attention. Please let us know if you or someone you know has any interest in adopting Jolly.
Thanks for your consideration.
We'll see you at the store. Come down and get some tulips- we are open Weds. 10 to 7, Thu, Fri, Sat 10 - 5 and Sunday 12 - 4. First week in March we open 7 days a week.
Karen, Paige and All of Us at the Store.
