December
November 27, 2007
It sure smells great at the store. If you haven't been in yet, the fresh cut greens are making everything so holiday fragrant! Lots of news for you this time, so I'll cut to the chase.
Santa. Real beard, outside if at all possible. He'll be
flying in on December 8th and 15th, between 1:00 and 4:00 pm. Come
enjoy some hot cider and cookies! If you forget your camera or run out
of batteries, Santa will send you a picture, for a small fee. Listening
to the gift wishes and giving out Christmas bells is, naturally, free.
Trees. The first few deliveries have been made. As
always, they are local (Osseo, WI) and sustainably grown. The trees are
delivered weekly and cut the day before they arrive. You have your
choice of several varieties, including white pine, balsam and fraser
fir, with plenty of the ever popular Charlie Browns or unsheared trees.
For the first time this year, we are carrying a very limited selection
of living, plantable trees for a commemorative Christmas. Ask us for
details.
Wreaths and Swags. Always handmade! This year, we are
featuring The Green Grown, our very own local wreath, whereby every bit
of it is locally produced or harvested. We have many wreaths on hand,
but we're always ready to make that special, one of a kind wreath just
for you or someone special...
Community Involvement. We are participating in a
Christmas ad and shopping campaign called the Eco-Friendly 8 Adventure.
You can enjoy all kinds of money saving deals and free gifts at each of
the participating local businesses. If you visit each of the eight
businesses and get your "passport" stamped, you are eligible for the
grand prize drawing, a $400 value! We feel proud to be involved with
the following businesses: Natural Built Home, Birch Clothing, ReGifts,
Common Roots Cafe, Birchwood Cafe, Tao Natural Foods and Twin Cities
Green. Look for details and a passport on our website, at the store,
and in a big pretty ad in the Southwest Journal the first week in
December.
Gifts. And speaking of Christmas shopping, you need to look
no further for fabulous gifts for the gardener, including really cool
tools, seriously magical gnomes, lovely and useful aprons, gloves,
books and gift wrap that's both pretty AND recycled. Classes. Many of
you have asked about the seminars and workshops we will be hosting
during the winter months (mid January to mid March). We are still
firming up dates and topics with our instructors - we will post a list
at the store, on the website and we will definitely send a newsletter
with specifics. We will close the store for three weeks starting
December 24, and will reopen January 15.
See you at the shop!
